You can increase your internet speed to 20 % by doing a simple tweaking. By default windows xp holds 20 % internet speed for various services like windows update and spyware etc. Here are the steps below
Step 1: Go to run and Type gpedit.msc and Click on Ok
Step 2: a ) Expand Administrative templates under Local Computer policy (1)
b) Expand Network Under Adminstrative Templates (2)
c) Double click on QoS Packet Sceduler (3)
Then Double click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth on the right pane (4)
Step 3: Click on the Radio button to enable the serive and Change the Bandwidth limit % to 0 % and Click on Apply and OK
Step 4: Go to run and type gpupdate and click on OK or restart your system
